* 1905 Columbia AH

This is a Columbia Graphophone Model AH. It was manufactured between 1904 and 1906. This particular machine is a frankenphone - it is comprised of parts from several Columbia machines and is not correctly restored. The unit should have the two-spring AH motor, but someone has replaced it with a single spring AK motor. That makes the machine a little weak for playing a full 10" record. I suspect the front arms are reproductions and the horn is an eight panel flower horn that is more often seen on the Standard line. Additionally, the reproducer is a very nice German Heart similar to a brass Victor Exhibition, but not correct for this machine. The cabinet is correct an only needs a little cleanup, as seem by the very nice decals.

The You-Tube video shows this machine playing a record. About half way through, I stopped and rebuilt the brass Heart reproducer so the second half of the record sounds much better.

This is a project machine, but it does look nice and decorative, and it will play a record well.
