Cylinder Boxes

Here is a list of the type of cylinder record boxes I have encountered and collected so far.

The leader of cylinder record production, Edison produced cylinders from the late 1880's up through the 1920's.

The Oxford brand was sold by Sears, Roebuck, and Co. Oxford Indestructible Records were pressed by the Indestructible Phonograph Co. of Albany, NY

The Indestructible Phonograph Co. of Albany, New York, produced moulded celluloid cylinders from 1907 until 1922, making both two- and four-minute cylinders. Also see Oxford Cylinders and Columbia Cylinders.

Pathe (French)

A fierce competitor of Edison, Columbia moved from cylinders to discs early in the 1900's. Columbia also marketed Indestructible Cylinders from 1908 to 1912.

Between 1908 and 1912, the U.S. Phonograph Company of Cleveland, Ohio, produced both two- and four-minute cylinders under the US Everlasting label. They also produced the Lakeside label for Montgomery Ward.
